MARIANNE'S NEW ALBUM 'HORSES AND HIGH HEELS'

Two years after the release of "Easy Come Easy Go", Marianne Faithfull has returned to the studio to record her new album "Horses and High Heels". The record is once again produced by the talented Hal Willner, with whom Marianne has successfully collaborated over many years.

The new album will be released in spring 2011 and also marks the return of Marianne Faithfull the songwriter: she has written five of the six original songs on the album which also includes eight cover versions.

Combining rock, soul and pop sounds, "Horses and high heels" unveils a new direction in Marianne's diverse discography.

UK (&Ireland) release: March 16th 2009 on Dramatico 
                                       

Australian release: February 14th 2009 on Shock records

New Album - 'Easy Come, Easy Go'

"Easy Come, Easy Go", The new album from Marianne Faithfull
Naive confirms the album release for November 2008
 
"Easy come Easy go" was produced by Hal Wilner and recorded in NYC at the Sear Sound studio with Marianne Faithfull's new band: Barry Reynolds, Greg Cohen, Marc Ribot, Jim White and Rob Burger. It includes covers of standards (Billie Holliday "Solitude", Bessie Smith "Easy come Easy go", Dolly Parton "Down from Dover"  and other more recent titles: Espers "Children of Stone", Black Rebel Motorcycle Club "Salvation", The Decemberists "The Crane Wife").
 
The album will released in two formats: a 10 songs standard version and a deluxe edition containing 8 bonus tracks and a DVD documentary by Anne Rohart under Jean-Baptiste Mondino's artistic direction showing Marianne Faithfull and Hal Wilner's comments on the songs selected for the album. A two disc vinyl edition will also be issued.
 
"Easy come easy go" contains many prestigious collaborations with Chan Marshall,  Nick  Cave , Keith Richards,  Antony Hegarty , Rufus Wainwright, Jarvis Cocker, Sean Lennon and Teddy Thompson
 
The album cover is by Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
